Go For A Walk, Get A Wild Idea
I’m going to start this by admitting something important. I’m a little delusional. Fully aware. Totally fine with it. Because honestly, nothing good ever happens when you play it safe and stay realistic all the time. Sometimes you need a little delusion to dream bigger, think differently, and imagine what could be possible.
The other morning, like most mornings, I was out on my walk. Fresh air, sunshine, movement, no earbuds, just me and my thoughts. And somewhere between step number one thousand and mentally planning my entire future, a new business idea popped into my head. One that felt exciting and creative and very “oh my god, I need to do this.”
The idea was to add a creative branch to my virtual assistant business that supports brides. Think wedding aesthetic kits with curated color palettes, font pairings, and the overall vibe. Invitation design, welcome packets, signage, ceremony programs, all the beautiful details that bring a wedding to life. And the reason this idea lit me up so much is simple. I love the creative design work I already do for my clients, and I have always wanted to work in the wedding industry. It felt aligned. It felt fun. It felt like one of those ideas you don’t want to talk yourself out of too quickly.
I’ve noticed this pattern in my own life. My best ideas don’t come when I’m forcing them. They come when I’m walking, blow drying my hair, or lying awake at night when my brain decides it’s time to be brilliant. Creativity likes space. It likes quiet. It likes when you stop scrolling and stop consuming and give your brain room to wander.
If you’re feeling stuck in your business or your life, try this. Step outside without earbuds. Go for a walk. Let your mind drift. Don’t pressure yourself to solve anything. Just think. Or don’t. Sometimes the best ideas show up when you’re not actively looking for them. Meditation helps too, even if it’s just a few minutes of breathing and letting your thoughts settle.
And here’s the part I want business owners to really hear. You’re allowed to evolve. You’re allowed to add something new. You’re allowed to try an idea just because it excites you. Not every creative thought needs a full business plan before it exists. Some ideas just need space to breathe before you decide what to do with them.
Being a little delusional is how you grow. It’s how businesses expand. It’s how you create something that actually feels aligned instead of just checking boxes. The worst thing that happens is you try something and learn from it. The best thing that happens is you build something you truly love.
And if your creative ideas are there but your to-do list, admin work, or backend tasks are draining your energy, that’s where I come in. As a virtual assistant, I help business owners create space. Space to think, dream, design, and let their creativity flow while I handle the behind the scenes work that keeps everything running smoothly.
So go for the walk. Have the wild idea. Let yourself be a little delusional. And if you’re ready to protect your creative energy and get support in your business, I’d love to help.
